Vanishing Deductible – What is It, and How Do I Get It?

Here’s something to look for when comparing auto insurance quotes. It’s called “vanishing deductible” and as far as new car insurance goes, being able to secure coverage at a reasonable rate will go a long way towards saving you some serious money.

Vanishing deductible is just what it sounds like, but it might be better described by calling it “the incrementally decreasing deductible.” Essentially, it’s an agreement that you come to with your auto insurance provider that says with each passing year, your deductible will continue to shrink until it hits zero. Of course, not everyone’s going to offer this with every new car insurance policy, but if you can get it when comparing auto insurance quotes, it’s well worth the effort.

To qualify for vanishing deductible, you have to be able to do two things:

• Keep a clean driving record, meaning no speeding tickets or traffic infractions.
• Drive safe and stay accident free.

If you think you can pull that off, ask an insurance agent the next time you’re comparing auto insurance quotes. This is a feature that’s becoming more common lately, which is another reason why it pays to shop around frequently for the best car insurance deal.
